Story
Founded in September 2023, Berzin BJJ quickly became the premier martial arts academy in the area, offering top-level instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA. The academy is led by owner and head instructor Anton Berzin, a highly accomplished martial artist with a deep history in the sport.
Anton is a former UFC Ultimate Fighter contender, former CFFC Light Heavyweight Champion, and an IBJJF gold medalist, among many other achievements. As one of the pioneers of MMA in the Philadelphia fight scene, he began his career at just 18 years old, helping shape the local combat sports community. His Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lineage traces back to the legendary Gracie family and he is a third degree black belt. He also holds certification as a Muay Thai Kru under Master Andy Russell, former coach of multiple UFC and K1 fighters.
At Berzin BJJ, we believe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than a sport but a community of people committed to a lifestyle rooted in health, positivity and endless growth.

Professor Anton Berzin
For 16 years Anton Berzin has trained and competed at the highest levels of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts. You may recognize him from UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter season 19, mixed martial arts bouts in corporations like CES and CFFC to name a few. He has also competed within International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), NAGA, and UFC Grappling Invitational. His elaborate background in martial arts and eagerness to share his knowledge with the community makes this a unique opportunity to learn from one the Philadelphia’s first and finest.
